An aerobic septic system pumps air into the wastewater so bacteria break it down faster. The kind we install sends the treated water out through spray heads over part of the yard. Many people call it a sprinkler septic system. Eastern Oklahoma Septic Services installs new aerobic septic systems and repairs the ones already in the ground.
We are based in Sapulpa and work about 40 miles around it, across Creek County and the Tulsa area. Aerobic systems are one side of our septic system installation in Sapulpa. They fit lots without city sewer where the soil cannot take lateral lines, the Oklahoma name for a drain field. Call or text (918) 645-0557, and we look at the job and put the quote in writing.

Wastewater from the house flows first into a trash tank. Solids settle to the bottom there, and grease floats to the top. The water then moves into the aeration tank, where an air pump bubbles air through it. Bacteria use that air to break down the waste.
Next, a settling chamber lets the leftover solids drop out. In most Oklahoma systems, that chamber is built into the aeration tank. Before the water is sprayed, it is disinfected, most often with chlorine. A pump tank holds the treated water until a timer starts the pump.
State rules call for at least two spray heads on every spray area. The heads must keep the spray low, at an angle of 15 degrees or less, with no misting. The timer must run the spray between 1 a.m. and 6 a.m. The spray area must be planted or terraced so the water soaks in where it lands.
On a lot without city sewer, the soil test decides which systems the lot may use. The report goes to the Oklahoma Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) and lists every allowed type. Tight clay, or rock or water close to the surface, can rule out lateral lines. An aerobic unit treats the water before it reaches the soil, so it can work on that ground.
New homes keep going up around Broken Arrow, Owasso and Collinsville. A new lot with no city sewer needs its own system. The state sizes the spray area by the soil and the number of bedrooms. When the soil allows it, a conventional septic system with lateral lines is another option.
Replacing a failed aerobic unit counts as a new installation under state rules, even when the old tank stays. It needs an Authorization to Construct from the DEQ and an inspection before it goes back into use. Before we quote, we check what can stay and what has to go.
An aerobic system relies on an air pump and a spray pump, and both wear out over time. If you cannot hear the air pump, the tank may not be getting air. A rotten egg smell can mean the system is not working right. Faulty spray heads are a common problem on spray systems.
The alarm is another sign. State rules call for a high-water alarm that goes off when the pump tank is more than half full. A failed pump or a stuck float can set it off.
We find the cause on site and replace the part that failed. Under state rules, the owner of a failing system must get it repaired promptly. A trash tank thick with sludge needs septic tank pumping. Cracked tanks and broken lines fall under our septic system repair work.
